SEAFOOD SALAD WITH SAUCE
Submitted by; Mawood
SEAFOOD SAUCE
1 large onion, chopped
2 to 3 green onions, chopped
1 pint mayonnaise
Tabasco sauce (to taste)*
Worcestershire sauce (to taste)*
Horseradish (to taste)*
2 tsp. Dijon style mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients, mixing well. *Add those ingredients to your
taste preference, but I think the horseradish makes this sauce.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before using.
SEAFOOD SALAD
1 lb cooked crab meat, (I use the Imitation crab)
1 lb. boiled shrimp, shells removed
1 head of lettuce, torn into pieces
1 green pepper, chopped
2 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup olives
1 small jar pimiento, drained
Cherry tomatoes, halved
2 hard cooked eggs, thinly sliced
Arrange lettuce in a serving bowl and scatter the crab meat and shrimp
on top.
Add the remaining salad ingredients on top of the seafood. Chill. When
ready to serve, pour
desired amount of the seafood sauce over the salad.
NOTE: Remaining leftover sauce may be use for a dip for chips, etc.
TIP: My family loves onions, so I always add extra. For a snappier
taste add more horseradish, try different brands, I learned not all
taste the same.
This recipe is one of my winners, it has won me first place and $50.00
in a contest about 5 years ago. ;-)
