I was just thinking about this around oh 10:30pm last night as I was walking by a run down honky Tavern, "Don't worry Liz, you can totally take care of yourself...girl power and all that shit."
That kind of stemmed into this big ol analytical session that kept me up half the night.
As I see it, no-one is totally self-reliant. I mean, everything you do, is tied to someone else somehow, you can't really do everything without giving some credit to someone.
Like co-workers, family, assholes on the street...whatever.
I wouldn't be here without the help of my parents, I'd have nowhere to LIVE without my parents. If I didn't , I'd have to make money right? Well, the products that I would use on a day to day basis on the job are all from someone else's sweat and blood...right? Right.
If I wanted to buy my own apartment, someone had to build the thing.
If I needed food, someone had to grow/raise whatever I buy, plus make all those lovely overpriced products I would choose to purchase. Plus I'd have to give mad props to the packagers, delivery service-men, stock boys, ect.
You can't even walk down a sidewalk without being reliant on the people driving down the street to not swerve and hit you right? Yup.
You can't brush your teeth, if there wasn't someone making toothbrushes or toothpaste. Even if you just scrubbed your teeth with your finger, you'd need water...pipes had to be laid and connected to your house...if you gathered your own water, uhm, someone made the bucket or whatever you carry the water with.
I seriously think we should abolish the term "self-reliant", it makes no sense, when you stay up until 7 am thinking about it.
Either that or I'm insane. Whatever, I like my nonsensical epiphinies.
