According to family tradition,
it is believed that Parthenia Jane Hall was of Cherokee
Indian descent. Her date of birth is well past the time at
which the Trail of Tears passed through the Paducah, Kentucky
area. Either her mother, Elizabeth Guthrie or her father,
John Hall must have been a Cherokee. This theory would be
correct assuming that the family tradition has some basis in
fact.
