Hugh de Courtenay was the 2nd Earl of Devon and a Founder-Knight of the Garter. He was knighted at the capitulation of Calais 1348. He was granted a Coat-of-Arms described as: bore, or, three torteaux, a label (5) azure, on each pendant a fleur-de-lis argent.
