Teacher's Page
The
Communications WebQuest LISTEN was created to
assist fourth grade teachers in teaching students to work independently in small
groups using technology. This Quest provides the student several
opportunities to increase language arts skills as listed on the
standards
page.
Increasing skills in the area of language arts will help to
equip students with life long ability to gather information, to critique
resources, to make meaningful decisions about content and purpose, and to
effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
A suggested rubrics Communications WebQuest Student Self is provided to assist teachers in
grading progress of skills. It is also suggested that teachers encourage
students to use the rubrics throughout this project to evaluate their own
progress in developing their timeline and oral presentation.
Teachers should encourage students to use the
Communication Worksheet to
help them in gather and organize their resources.
Teacher ideas should be provided for students including
resources found in the school media center* as well as videos of your choice that enhance information
related to the invention and discovery of various types of communication in
addition to the websites located in this Quest.
