My mind began to wander
Pictures filled my head
Memories came flooding my way
There I was as a little child
Running thru the halls
Laughter ringing thru the rooms
Mom and Dad shaking their heads,"That child is wild!"
Another picture came to light
A table filled with food
Family all gathered 'round to share the meal
Happy faces filled with delight
Turned a corner & looked into an empty room
Heartache,tears and sadness
Hear voices now stilled by death
Shadows left to waiver in the gloom
Shake my head to clear the pain
Walk out into the yard
Here life ends and begins again
Beautiful thoughts come rushing in
Life goes on no matter what
Nothing's ever really lost
Things go to a different level
reality brought back by a thought
