October 15, 2004 - aviva writes about her daughter, batya bas aviva (a girl with down syndrome).

The doctors are still doing tests - more blood tests and ultra sounds. The latest is she has an over active thyroid. I am still not quite sure what that means.

Nov. 21 - Shalom all:

Batya had a cardiac cauterization this past Wednesday Nov 16th. It was successful and the news was good. Unfortunately she got very sick Shabbat and had to be taken to Shaare Tzedek in Jerusalem on Shabbat. They put her in ICU and are not sure what is the problem.

Her oxygen levels was at 50, her blood pressure very low like 95/45, her pulse rate was too fast and she had a fever that went up to about 104 at one point.

She is stabilized now in ICU because she is on a respirator and getting antibiotics and oxygen and medicine for her heart.

She needs your prayers and Tehillim. Batya bat Aviva (age 14)
