PENNY POOCH MEETS SANTA CLAUS
Hi kids, I'm Penny Pooch and it's December and do you know what comes in December? That's right, Christmas!
I love Christmas; we get all kinds of neat things to eat and lots of presents. And last Christmas I saw Santa Claus!
It was the night before Christmas and Mandy, my little girl people, had decorated my doghouse with a shinny star and bright lights.
We were so excited; being good was hard to do! But my people, Mandy's Mommy and Daddy, had told us that if we weren't good, Santa would not come to our house.
So we spent the day making a snowman, and talking about all the nice things we wanted from Santa.
Soon it was dinner- time, and Mandy had to go inside. I had settled down to wait, because I was going to be awake when Santa came!
Mandy and I had decided that I would be the one to ask Santa not to forget her baby doll and a big rubber ball for me.
OH.... it was so hard to stay awake after every one else had gone to bed! My doghouse was so warm and cozy, that I could hardly keep my eyes open.
Such a long, long, night where was Santa? He was taking so long in coming. Maybe Mandy and I weren't good enough this year.
Maybe Santa wasn't going to come to our house. Does he keep a list of everything we do wrong? Groan; I sure get into a lot of trouble.
But it isn't always my fault! Sometimes things just happen, like the time I got off my leash and Booty the cat dared me to catch him. It wasn't really our fault if some trash -cans got knocked over, was it?
Gosh, maybe Santa knows about the time Mandy and I made mud pies. What a mess! Mandys Mommy was really mad that time!
Golly! If Santa keeps a list, Mandy and I are really in trouble this time!! No use waiting any longer, there won't be a rubber ball or baby doll for us. I wonder if he knows about our trip to the zoo?
What was that? Did I hear a cat? Running out of my doghouse, I was ready for a chase, but I ran into a people man. A big round people man, dressed in red and white.
WOW! I ran into Santa! My goodness, he was really in my fenced yard!! I was so happy that I barked and barked.
I barked so long and loud that I woke up my people family. They came outside to see what was the matter with me.
Mandy's Daddy told me to stop barking, that I was going to wake all of the neighbors! But Santa was here, I barked.
I ran all around my yard, trying to show him, but Santa was gone. How did he get away? Now no one would believe me.
But Mandy came and gave me a big hug, and told me that she knew that I saw Santa. Do you believe me?
