PENNY POOCH GOES TO SCHOOL
Hi kids, I'm Penny Pooch and I have a story to tell you. My little people girl, Mandy, started school. I was so sad; I missed her so much.
Mandy left the house every morning at 8:00 a.m. going to some place called kinder-garden. And I had to stay home. Boy, was I ever lonely.
I just went and laid down by my big doghouse and cried. My playmate was gone! Gee, its a long time until 2:00 p.m.
One day, Mandy came home and brushed my coat for a really long time. She put two pink ribbons on me; one over each ear, and told me that I was going to this place called kinder-garden.
Oh boy! I was going to get to go with Mandy to school. I was going to be really good, cause, I missed my little girl people.
The next morning, Mandy's Mommy came and put me on my leash. She told me that I should be a good dog and not cause any trouble.
I knew that I was going to be good, I was going to this kinder-garden place with Mandy; and we were going to play like we used to!
BOY!!! That school place was really big. There sure was a lot of big yellow buses; and lots of cars, and so many people! I started to get scared.
My little girl people, Mandy, told me that it was going to be ok. She was right there, and we were going to something called show and tell.
I didn't know what a show and tell was, but if my little girl people said it was ok, then, I knew that I would be ok. But it sure was busy at this place called school.
Mandy took us into a big room, where there was a people lady, that Mandy called a teacher. There were a lot of little people boys; and a lot of little people girls. And they all had a friend with them.
The little girl next to Mandy had a turtle, and one little boy was holding a bird- cage with a little bird in it. And across the room, I couldn't believe my eyes! A big gray cat! Yes, it was my friend Booty!!
Booty looked at me and meowed "you can't catch me again". I barked, Oh yes I can". Mandy and the little boy that was holding Booty, was scared!
Booty meowed, I barked, and the chase was on! We ran around the room, jumping from desk to floor, from floor to desk! All of the little people children were all laughing, the people teacher yelled, "STOP!" Booty meowed, I barked!
I barked and barked, Booty meowed and meowed! Booty had climbed up the window shade. I couldn't climb, so I barked some more.
My little girl people, Mandy, grabbed my leash, all the while telling me, that I was a bad dog.
The little boy people got on a chair and grabbed Booty, telling him that he was a bad cat.
The people teacher had Mandy take me out into the hall, while she called Mandy's Mommy.
When Mandy's Mommy came to get me, she told me that I was a bad dog and that I couldn't come to school again.
When I got back to my own fenced yard, I went inside my big doghouse and stayed there. I was so sad!
At 2:00 p.m. my little girl people came home. But I didn't run out to see her. I knew that she was mad at me; and she thought I was a bad dog.
Boy, was I surprised when Mandy came out into my fenced yard, and called my name. She came right into my doghouse and hugged me.
"I love you Penny Pooch", she told me. I barked and wagged my tail. What A good day!!!
