JUST A BOTTLE OF BEANS
When we got Lady, we tried to keep her entertained the best we could, which is not a hard thing to do, but we tried to find things that would keep her busy so she would not chew the house down. And anyone that has ever owned a puppy, knows how they love to chew, and chew and then they will chew some more.
So my crafty husband came up with the idea to make her a bottle of beans. He just took a 16 oz. plastic coke bottle, and put a few beans in it, closed the lid really tight, and let it roll!
Now if you want to keep a puppy busy, just let her have a bottle of beans on a tiled floor, she will play for hours, or until your nerves snap and you have to take it from her! But be sure you put it well out of sight, because if she can see it, she will beg you for it, and if your dog is really good at begging, she will wear you down until she has her bottle back, and you will be looking for excuses to go shopping, to the doctor or even to the dentist; then you can let her Daddy listen to those darn beans rolling around in the plastic bottle!
Even as nerve racking as it could be, I have to admit that Lady was pretty cute, chasing that bottle of beans, she never could get her little mouth around the bottle, which brought on the most ferocious growl you will ever hear from a small puppy!
All of my dogs and all of their puppies have gotten to play with a bottle of beans, and if you know anything about a cocker spaniel, you know that they really like to play!
