| Acoustic Revolution@the grove tavern - 08/04/03 WE had a little problem with the pool players tonight too lively and too close to the stage, too loud and too much! we played them a version of Holes' plump just so i could shout louder than them and stop singing for a minute or two.it worked well. we also played the crush, in our vein & my confirmation. Frustrating but worthwhile, this, the new night from acoustic revolution shouldve been more packed out than it was, but the venue is promising just hope so are the people-me n mim too lazy to book gigs for ourselves, we'll play the grey horse again soon, just for a change of scenery... | ||||||||||||||||||||

Acoustic night @Grey horse -12/03/03 Me n Mim were in a weird way this particular night, both of us have all sorts a shit goin on that made us feel safer playing in our bedrooms, but we were booked to support the highly talented Amrit Sond, my hippy friend whos acoustic style leaves jaws dropped & ears ringing with pleasure. so we went & played anyway! Our new song 'In our vein' was well received, and earned us some new fans, but we need to think up a proper endind really, as we just jam & bluff our way after the second chorus-y type bit. Mims tune 'overflow' totally cocked up as she decided to totally skip an entire section (w/out telling me) & then kicked me to prompt the harmonies for the next bit, which in tuen threw me, so i missed an entire section & the 4 min song ended up at around 2 mins w/vital elements missing! Everyone laughed (w/us) so the next tune of course was far superior, 'the crush' is a strong favourite for most folk. We had more time but decided to end on a strong note rather than a bashful one. Considering all that went on that day, me n mim were fucking fantastic & she summed it up in this more than adequate txt she sent me later on "WHO CARES IF I CANT TUNE A GUITAR & I DROPPED MY PICK & I DONT KNOW OUR TUNES, WE ROCK!!" WELL SAID!!

| Acoustic Revolution@the cartoon - 09/03/03 WE went on rather early this month, to give ourselves a break from going last, & the public transport crew missing our set, kicked off with our new one -'in our vein' very groovy & well received by the crowd- (that are finally sitting close to the stage to give performers a warmer vibe). Followed by (in no order) the crush & overflow, i then played an oldie that hasnt been heard by public ears for some time, Jo & Dun trippin, two songs in one that i wrote 4 years ago during a very trippy time, Miriam boldly ad-libbed some lead, and this was dedicated to my very-bestest-friend Jo. Good set, good night all round, now im on the hunt for new blood, come air your talent people, i know you're out there! Stop playing to the four walls of your bedroom & come play at our night!! | ||||||||||||||||||||
Acoustic night @Grey Horse - 10/02/03 Last minute invitation drew me to the grey horse alone tonight. I played Last light-my end of summer tune, & everyone's lying to me, which is pretty self explanitory & pretty much every audience I've played it to seems to take offence to it which is always good. IT was ok. The mic was slipping & I was on the stage as soon as i had taken my jacket off to come in. Other people I had the pleasure of seeing play that night included Ted Humphreys wonderfully gifted daughter, Sarah, & CArrie (the ultimate hippy chick and our only chance of a Joni Mitchell for this decade) & Matt who will be playing for us at the acoustic revolution Sunday...check it out......

Acoustic night @Grey Horse -18/12/02 Me& Mim were at our best tonight, relaxed & comfortable, we performed My conf.., The crush & Overlow. Shame the same heckler was there that came to the revolution night. Slightly irritating, as was the feedback hum (that i pointed out in soundchek but noone else could hear it!). I grimaced a bit, but I enjoyed playing. I wish i was playing my Danelectro tho. No other guitar stays my tuning, but the D is fuct rite now, A-boo. Good night anyway!

Acoustic Revolution @Cartoon - 15/12/02 I had all the nerves of all the players on tonite aswell as my own, which wasnt as bad as it couldve been bcos the players booked were mainly nerveless & comfortable w/playing onstage. I ended up not wanting 2play, but came round when Mim told me we were gonna play. Big thanks2all who turned up-west croydons train station was closed so a lot of people didn't make it down, but alot of my people were there, so to you who know who you are -ta. xx Me & Mim played a song of hers Overflow followed by our song of the summer The crush & our first song My confirmation. We were received warmly (bar one heckler w/a tiny penis) as were Amrit, Fin, Ted, Tym, Fuzzy, & all our other acts, Good one people, lets bring the house down next time...Thanks2all players&punters, nice2c some old new & unknown faces out4the music!

Saucy Kettle-20/08/02 I wasn't gonna play tonight bcos I've been rehearsing with the cover girls today and I broke a string and really need to replace them all. But I ended up borrowing a guitar from Tym, and playing Grim, once, loud and clear, it was great, I was properly in the mood, well warmed up and Tyms' guitar is groovy. Also I wasn't suffering any nerves, bcos I didn't expect to be playing. Nice.

Grey Horse-28/08/02 Why do I always feel the need to insult myself or other people, (or the guitar) when I get onstage alone? Answers on a postcard to: [email protected]

Grey Horse-14/08/02 It's always difficult for me to talk onstage. I have done a good job of keeping mouth shut, but sometimes I need to say something, and then I talk crap, (even when I'm joking, the people look at me like I'm on acid). So tonight I said 'HEllo; I don't own an acoustic, so I'm playing this.' 'This ones for Jo'. I played Jo, followed by Done trippin. Nerves, and sitting down don't help me, and I can't find my feet in the song until half way through when I start to feel the music. I introduce rubbish, then, by saying, 'You'll probably hate this but I wrote it so I don't care' What am I on?

Saucy Kettle-06/08/02 I was so tired this evening I spent most of it with my head on the table, saying 'nah we're not playing' every time I was asked if I'd like to go up. I eventually gathered enough strength to get up with Mim and do Windchime, and then felt better and got my guitar to play my conf. I had a good time.
