| Anthony Abraham Mullally was born on 16 Dec 1894 in Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY,the son of Richard Henry Mullally and Mary Elizabeth West. His parents and siblings moved from King Ferry, NY, to Cortland and East Homer, Cortland County, NY around 1905. Anthony married Flora Mae Ackley ca. 1915 at Trumansburg, Tompkins Co., NY. The couple lived in Cortland where their first child was born in 1916. Shortly thereafter they moved to Akron, Summit Co., Ohio, Anthony was emloyed at the Tire Company. Their other two children were born in Akron, Ohio. Anthony died sometime in the year 1935 in Cortland County, NY. His exact date of death as well as where he was buried remain unknown to this time. Flora Mae Ackley was born on 10 May 1895 in Lockwood, Tioga Co., NY, the daughter of George Wilber Ackley and Minnie Belle Barden. The Ackley's and the Barden's lived in the towns of Barton and Lockwood. George and Minnie Ackley and others in their families moved to Cortland, Cortland Co., NY, to get jobs at the Wickwire Company located in Cortland, New York. Flora and her three children left Cortland, NY headed for Peoria, Illinois in the year 1925. At this time Anthony had been hospitalized. The hospitalization, would last for many, years. Flora heard from others of the opportunity for employment that existed in Illinois. Flora worked for the R. Nelson Manufacturing Company in Peoria, Illinois to the late 1950,s. Flora died 28 February 1963 in Peoria, IL age 67.Buried at Swan Lake Memory Gardens,Peoria, IL. Children of Anthony Mullally and Flora Ackley Richard Anthony Mullally, b. 26 Aug 1916, Cortland, NY. Married on 07 Dec 1935. Spouse: Margaret Marie Kowalski. 24 June 1917- 05 July 2002 Died on 02 Mar 1996 in Peoria, IL. age 79. Entombed at Swan Lake Chapel Mausoleum. Mary Elizabeth Mullally, b. 30 Apr 1919 at Akron, Ohio. LIVING. Married, 24 Aug 1938. Spouse: Joseph L. Washburn 29 May 1911-18 May 1993. John Robert Mullally, b. 01 Oct 1921 at Akron, Ohio, Married 29 Nov 1941. Spouse: Coletta Hinderliter 22 Feb 1923-19 June 1991. Died on 03 Feb 1995 in Peoria, age 73. Richard Henry Mullally, born 06 Nov. 1868 at Prospect Corners, Cayuga Co., NY, the son of Anthony Mullally and Ellen Fitztgerald. Married Mary Elizabeth West, ca. 1894, probably in Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY Richard lived in the towns of Auburn, Aurora, Ledyard, King Ferry, all located in Cayuga Co.,NY. At one time, for a brief time he purchased land from his father Anthony and for a short time was engaged in farming. The land was sold back to his father and at that time Richard and Mary with their three children, re-located in Cortland, Cortland Co., NY where Richard was part owner of a Blacksmiths Shop in the town of Cortland. Mary West Mullally is shown in city directories for Cortland, NY as working as a seamstress. The family moved from Cortland to East Homer, NY, which is an adjacent town to Cortland sometime after Richards Blacksmith Shop closed. Richard H. Mullally died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head on 10 March 1910, at the age of 41, at a rented home where his wife and son Anthony had moved during his absence. When he returned to E. Homer, there was an altercation and Richard assaulted his wife with a Blacksmiths hammer, believing he had killed her, he took his life with his sons loaded hunting rifle. The newspapers of the time in more than one county relate the tragic details of the event. Mary Elizabeth West Mullally was treated on the scene by the Cortland Coroner, it is said she suffered nearly 14 skull fractures. She went to Ithaca, Tompkins Co., NY to her Sisters home to recover. Their two daughters already being there prior to the tragedy of 10 March 1910. Richard Henry Mullally is buried in the unmarked section of St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, located in Aurora, Cayuga Co., NY. St. Patricks Cemetery is where many of the Mullally families are buried. Mary Elizabeth West, born 20 January 1875 at King Ferry, Cayuga Co., NY the daughter of Abraham West and Mary McCarthy. After becoming a widow in 1910, Mary lived for over 20 years in Cortland, NY. When becoming elderly she was unable to care for herself and suffered from arteriosclerosis and at a time when no Nursing Homes were available, she went to Binghampton State Hospital, where she died on 18 Feb 1944 at the age of 67 years, cause Cardiac Failure due to Chronic Myocarditis. Mary E. Mullally was buried in her parents plot at Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Cemetery, Kink Ferry, NY. . Children of Richard H. and Mary E. Mullally Anthony A. Mullally, b. 16 Dec 1894 at Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY. Spouse: Flora Mae Ackley Died: ca. late 1935 in Cortland Co.,NY. Burial place unknown. Mary Elizabeth Mullally, b. April 1897 in Cayuga Co., NY, prob. Ledyard.. Spouse: Harold Dutton. Died: 1979 at Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. Buried next to husband in Rochester, NY. Helen C. Mullally, b. Dec 1899, at Aurora, Cayuga Co., NY. Spouse: Arthur Chatterton After her marriage she re-located to Rockville, Conneticut where she died on 02 May 1988, age 89.
