This 82-hour course meets all of the requirements of the State of Michigan Certified Nurse Aide Training program. A combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical training are utilized to meet the state requirements.
Course content of the state curriculula includes long-term care facilities, physical and emotional needs of residents, resident rights, communication skills,death and dying, special needs of residents, vital signs, infection control principles and isolation techniques, observations, medical terminology, body mechanics, transfers, walkers, canes, positioning in bed, nutrition, intake and output, elimination needs, skin care, foot care, dressing, bathing, bedmaking, oral care, and first aid.
Class and lab time is usually from 8:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. for 10 days. Clinical time is from 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for three days. Please call registration secretary for specific dates and times.
