Jodhpur is situated on the edge of the Thar Desert. The old city of blue buildings is totally dominated by a massive hill top fort, whose bronze cannons are spiked but still trained out over the city below. The old city is surrounded by a 10Km wall, in which eight gates lead from the old to new cities. Inside the wall the streets wind over the small hillsides in a tangle of shops and humanity. What a wonderful place to roam.
