To My Son's Killer
What do you say to the person who took your child's life?
You took him from his family, his children, his wife,
He had so much to live for, so much more to do
Now it is all over because of you
What were you thinking of that night
No matter what your intentions were, you knew it wasn't right
Because of your selfishness and greed, my child is gone
Two little girls left without a daddy because you did wrong
Two more girls left without their big brother
An angry and bitter father and a heartbroken mother
A wife, a grandmother, friends and family, so hurt and lost
A crime you commited, but a wonderful young man and his family pay the cost
We live with the hurt and pain every day
And you? You just got to walk away
Does he ever cross your mind at all,
This young man who's life you took, do you recall
Tell me, do you ever think of him
Or his little girls, do you ever think of them
I know your mother loves you just as I love my son
But how hard it must be on her knowing what you have done
Not only have you hurt my family, you hurt yours too
So many lives destroyed because of you
Do I hate you? No, that would take too much energy,
And you just aren't worth it to me
You may think you have gotten away with murder
But one day you will have to answer for what you did here on earth
You'll have to face your maker and what you have done
You won't get away with it this time, there will be justice for my son
And he will be standing right by God's side
When you pay for what you did the night he died.
