Idaho
Heathens and Pagans For
the past year, a diverse group of people from Idaho and nearby
states have been getting together when they can for various
activities.
Many of the people in this
group first met online, then decided to take the friendships a step
further and meet in person.
One of the first get-togethers
within the group was an informal "shootout". Gun
control and gun safety discussion via email brought about the
formation of a group we fondly labeled "Heat Packin' Heathens ".

Goose Lake, near McCall,
was to be the first location the group chose for our summer campout
meetups. The first campout
meetup was on August 1, 2003. You will find pictures of
the lake and the people who came together there for three days of
"getting to know each other", lots of good eats and
shivering around a citronella candle in lieu of a campfire. The day we arrived,
the Forest Service's no-fire rule went into effect. Luckily,
we had propane stoves to cook on and a big tarp to sit under.
While the forest fires raged through Idaho, it rained much of the
weekend.
We liked it so much the
first time, we went back in two weeks to do it all over again.
This time, we were more prepared, complete with an earth friendly
homemade porta-pottie and shower. Those who forgot the time
before, remembered to bring fishing gear and horseshoes. For
all the comraderie in the middle of August, it was mighty cold in
them there hills.
