Movies

Welcome to Judinkle_land's movie page! Naturally, this page is very opinionated. Filled with opinions. As they are my opinions, I have no problem with calling them the right opinions. But, I digress. Fact is, I think that most movies out there are despicable or worse. As such, I have created this page as a place of refuge for those looking for a good movie. Enjoy my personal top 33!

# Title Description / Why I like it
Annie Hall One of Woody Allen's best. Great plot, great direction, and even a Woody Allen / Snow White animated sequence!
Bean: The Whole Bean (TV) DVD set is one of the greatest box sets ever. Rowan Atkinson is phenomenal. Entertainment in its purest form.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Keanu Reeves' best role. Wow. The "shut up, Ted!" sequence is still one of the saddest, funniest scenes ever.
Cabin Boy Weirdest movie ever. No doubt about it. Chris Elliot is absolutely hilarious. I'm proud to own it.
Crocodile Hunter Anything from this series - the TV show or the movie (Collision Course) - is great. Highly recommended.
The Dish True story - small Australian town with satellite for broadcasting the moon landing. Great acting and authentic footage!
Ferris Beuller's Day Off Really funny story of a high school boy and his amazing day off. Louis Anderson has a 2 second flower delivery cameo.
Groundhog Day Bill Murray at his best. Also starring Andie MacDowell and a 22 pound groundhog named Scooter.
(Monty Python's) Holy Grail Simply unbelievable. Shocking. All the other related adjectives. DVD special features are not to be missed. Believe me.
Ice Age Who knew Ray Romano could be such a great wooly mammoth? The whole movie is great. Look for inside jokes...
The In-Laws Michael Douglas is the CIA agent, and Albert Brooks had an anxiety attack watching an airline commercial. It's good.
Jerry Seinfeld: Live on Broadway The now-famous "I'm telling it for the last time" show. The highlights of his stand-up career. Not to be missed.
Jet Pink The Pink Panther's greatest collection. Includes the "Pink Phink", his first ever cartoon appearance. I love cartoons.
Life and Times of Hank Greenberg If you're like baseball (especially if you're Jewish), you're going to want to see this. Great footage and Jewish pride.
Local Hero A real sleeper hit. Not very widely known. Businessman finds happiness in a small Scottish town. Intelligent comedy.
A Mighty Wind World class mockumentary about folk musicians. "Spinal Tap" (See #28) as "The Folksmen"! Accurate and funny.
Monsters, Inc. Billy Crystal and John Goodman are great as Mike Wazowski and James "Sulley" Sullivan. They sing good, too.
The Mouse that Roared Peter Sellers plays the hero, the evil prime minister, and the Duchess! Sums up his amazing acting talents.
Mrs. Doubtfire Robin Williams in a movie that has a good message, great acting, and limited profanity! Plus Robin in a bodysuit.
The Muppet Movie Kermit the Frog plays and sings "Rainbow Connection" . He rides a bike. If you say this is too "young", please leave.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? George Clooney stars in this semi-updated version of Homer's "Odyssey", with a couple twists. I like it.
The Odd Couple Neil Simon, Jack Lemmon, and Walter Matthau star in one of the best known comedies of all time. See it.
The Odd Couple II Much of the same. If you liked the first one, chances are you'll like the second one as well.
Rocky & Bullwinkle (TV, Season 1) The very beginning of the greatest animated show ever. Even The Simpsons can't match this. It is amazing.
Shrek The animated smash that took the world by storm. Eddie Murphy's a standout as Donkey, the "talking, flying donkey".
61* Baseball fan? Then go back in time with director Billy Crystal to Roger Maris' home run record breaking season of 1961.
Spaceballs An ultimate Mel Brooks classic. The Star Wars spoof. Mel himself stars as Yogurt, master of the Schwartz.
This is Spinal Tap The best movie about rock and roll ever made. They're all good, but Harry Shearer steals the show as Derek Smalls.
Tootsie Dustin Hoffman in drag! It's really good. A classic. Echoed in "Mrs. Doubtfire" (See #19) with Robin Williams.
The Truman Show Jim Carrey is the star of a show that is broadcasted 24/7 - live, continual footage of his life. Maybe Jim's best.
The Visitors (Les Visiteurs) French movie starring Christian Clavier and Jean Reno as medieval men (lackey and knight, respectively). Hilarious.
Winged Migration If you like nature, this is not to be missed. Even if not, the direction is unbelievable. Probably the best documentary ever.
Young Frankenstein Mel Brooks' ultimate directing triumph. A real classic. Marty Feldman in one of the funniest roles I've ever seen.

Also, I recently saw "Looney Tunes: Back in Action". I hadn't had that much fun at a movie in a long time. I loved it. Some didn't...

(1/5 stars) Winters Worst Movie, November 28, 2003
Reviewer: A customer from brooklyn, ny ,usa
Thsi movie sucks. Brendan Fraser and Steve Martin were so not funny in this movie. They both are usally quite funny, but this movie dosen't have that many funny parts. Its very babish. It dosent deserve any honors or awards, and should be kicked out of theathers immediatly. Don't waste your money seeing thsi movie its very bad and annoying!!!!

Personally, I don't think people with spelling and grammar this bad should be allowed to have opinions. At least none that oppose mine.
