It was a dark and stormy night.  A night that would change the world forever.   Well maybe I'm exaggerating a little. It wasn't stormy at all.  But the world would be forever altered at 4am June 8, 1974 when Judith Anne Duke made her debut.  Yup that's me, Judibug, and this is how it all began.
Well I suppose the cosmos were lining up years earlier when Linda Misener and David Duke first met in Elliot Lake.  But this is not their story, it is mine, so it's only important that you know that they did infact meet, fall in love, get married and have children.  And oh did they have children.  I was raised in a family of five children. The oldest sibling is Angela.  She is now married to Greg and they have two kids, Devin and Courtney.   Next is Christine.  She has two demon spawn of her own, David and Gerry.  My brother is stuck in the middle of four girls, but amazingly enough he turned out quite alright.  He is now living out west, in sin, with Dawna. They are getting married in July 2004... I guess we didn't turn him against the female race afterall.  The baby of the family is Joy.  She married her highschool sweetheart, Tom.  They have a son and a daughter, Dean and Jordan.  That's all the details I'm going to get into about them now, but oh they stories I could tell....
So, I was born and raised in Elliot Lake, Ontario Canada.  I had the typical crazy/normal childhood.  Apparently I was possessed by the "evil teenage girl" monster and was horrible for a few years according to my mother, but I'm sure I wasn't that bad.  Unlike everyone else in my family, I was never in trouble, ever. Oh I'm sure I made up for it in later years, but that story will come soon.

Things really started getting interesting for me in 1993. My sister and I decided to open up a Bridal Salon together. Only one thing to say about that, NEVER work with family.  The partnership dissolved soon enough, but I'm sure being around wedding stuff had a major influence on the next big event in my life.  That year I also met and became engaged to Roger Grondin.  We were married on November 5, 1994.  For a million reasons and maybe none at all, we seperated and subsequently divorced in July, 1999.  I also got involved with reason number 842 of those million and the second Roger entered my life that same month. Part one and Part two, as my neighbors call them.  From hereon after the second one shall be referred to as "the idiot" if he is refered to at all.  Sometimes when everybody warns you about your newboyfriend, you should listen.  Alright everybody in unison "We told you so!" So fastforward three years and I smartened up and threw the idiot out.
In those 9 combined years, some interesting things did happen to me though.  In 1994 I started working at Sprucen Foods.  Who knew that I would make a career out of a futures placement at a corner store?  I know it's not ultra cool or anything, but I really do love my job.  Where else could I get paid to gossip with friends and flirt with older men? From here until retirement, or when I win the lottery, I will be at that store every Wednesday and Saturday. And some days inbetween if the boss is feeling generous when he makes the schedule.
In 1995, when I was still a "we", we bought a house. I love my house.  I've had the best time decorating it. Interior decorating is my passion. I've completed every room in the house to some extent, and now it may be time to start over.  It's made a complete transformation from the panelled time warp monstrosity that it was when we moved in.  Next year I will try my hand at gardening.  I hope the tulips I planted in the fall make an appearance in the spring.

On a more serious note, if you get anything out of this story, listen very carefully to what I say next.  If at any time you feel the need to go to the doctor complaining of pain and he tells you that it is normal, bitch-slap him upside the head and don't stop until he listens to you.  I was naive enough to believe that doctors knew what they were talking about and suffered for almost 8 years until I was wheeled into emergency surgery with a ruptured ovarian cyst.  I almost died that time, but it took another year before they agreed that I needed a hysterectomy. As I write this, it's been almost a year since my last period.  HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!  I am so not into whiny, why me people, so I won't even go into the negative aspects of it all.  It is just so nice to be pain free finally. Enough said about that.

You know at 3 am things tend to take on a life of their own.  I really thought that this would be more interesting when I was lying in bed wide awake in the middle of the night, waiting for the Tylenol PM to kick in.  Ya, I should write my life story. I don't know that I've let you in on any mind-boggling secrets or life altering revelations.  What else can I say?  My favourite colour is purple, but I do go through stages and get into colours big-time.  Who can forget the yellow stage that took over the sixth grade.  My favourite food is chicken. When I go to a restaurant I will order either that or a club house sandwich. I am too predictable.
My favourite treat is chocolate covered men, oops, I mean cherries. I am a vodka girl. Schmirnoff Ice Triple Black.  My favourite movie of all time is A White Christmas.  My favourite song is Please Come to Boston by Reba McEntire. My favourite number is 14, because of some boy I had a crush on in 5th grade. I bet you thought I was gonna say number 20. Ya, I'm a big Tony Stewart fan. It started out with the Home Depot car, but what a cutie, and a kick-ass driver.
There will be updates to this and other pages added as things happen in my life...in fact, check out the next chapter here...
