Child Abuse Prevention Network - "The World Wide Internet Nerve Center for professionals in the field of child abuse and neglect."

Childhelp USA - Childhelp USA exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused and neglected children.

Child Welfare League of America - CWLA is an association of almost 1,200 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist over 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a wide range of services.   CWLA maintains the National Data Analysis System, a database of child welfare statistics.

Children's Bureau - federal agency for children, located within the United States Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families, Administration on Children, Youth and Families.

Girls and Boys Town - "a long history of offering help, hope and healing to abused, abandoned, neglected, handicapped or otherwise troubled children. In fact, our mission is to change the way America Cares for her at-risk children. " 

National CASA Association - Court Appointed Special Advocates for children.

Childhaven - Childhaven's mission focuses on serviing children ages one month to five years who have suffered abuse and neglect in King County, WA.

Washington Children's Alliance - Our mission is to improve the well being of children by effecting positive changes in public policies, priorities, and programs.

Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect - "WCPCAN’s mission is to provide leadership and a statewide focus on the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and to encourage and support effective community prevention efforts."



 
Summer Camp Resources:
 
 

American Camping Association  - Search the ACA Camp Database of over 2000 camps, find jobs, and links to all kinds of things about camps.

The Consortium on Children's Asthma Camps - Camps for children with asthma, search the directory of camps.

KidsCamps.com  - Listings of all types of camps and links to camp jobs.

Camp Horizon - Camp Horizon, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization which provides programs, throughout the year, for abused and neglected children from the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia.

Camp Max Straus - Camp in the Los Angeles area for underprivileged children.

Camp Opportunity - Camp Opportunity is a non-profit organization for abused and neglected children in the Clark County, WA area.  Children ages 7 to 12 are paired one-on-one with a counselor for a week of summer camp with a chance to just be a child.

Camp to Belong Camp for separated foster children.  Camps in CA and Colorado.

Camp Wildcat  - Student run club at the University of Arizona to provide camping opportunites for underprivileged kids.

Royal Family Kids Camps - network of camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children, sponsored by local churches.

Youth Organizations:

Big Brothers/Big Sisters  - "Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is something that almost anyone can do. The only requirements are a willingness to make a new friend and a desire to share some fun with a young person. "

Boys & Girls Clubs of America  - Provides a safe place for boys and girls to "realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens."

Campfire USA - "provides all-inclusive, coeducational programs in hundreds of communities across the United States. Founded in 1910, Camp Fire USA's outcome-based programs include youth leadership, self-reliance, after school groups, camping and environmental education and child care."

Save the Children USA - America's Forgotten Children, Rural Poverty in America

YWCA of the USA - "empowers women and girls by offering a wide range of services and programs that enrich and transform their lives."

Washington State

Community Youth Services - Located in Olympia, WA

Crisis Clinic - of Seattle/King County, includes their Community Resources Online database.

YouthCare - "a Washington State private non-prrofit agency, serves youth and their families who are experiencing the consequences of homelessness, conflict, and disenfranchisement."

Youth Connection United Way of King County - volunteer opportunities for youth.

Youth Eastside Services (YES) - "non-profit organization providing counseling and prevention services to youth and parents on the Eastside (of King County, WA)."
