Kratos is a mercenary, hired solely to protect the Chosen on her journey to regenerate the world. He is skilled with the art of the sword, and he typically nags Lloyd to try to become more like him. Kratos sees this as constructive criticism, but Lloyd sees his commentary from a totally different paradigm. Kratos may appear cold on the outside, but he is relatively warm on the inside, because at times he seems to care deeply about the well-being of Lloyd.

Many years ago, Kratos's wife, Anna, was transformed into a horrible creature through the power of the exspheres. To protect his son, Lloyd, he was forced to kill her. After that, Kratos went into a state of depression were he lost most of his emotions and free thought. He joind with Mithos Yggdrasiel and Cruxis to create two worlds, one known as Sylvarant and one as Tethe'alla, who unknowingly fight for each others mana. He has climbed the ranks of Mithos's army to become one of the 5 Seraphim. Imbued with the powers of the Cruxis crystals, he has lived for 4000 years without a sign of age and has evolved into an angel of judgment .He awaits the day were he could face his son and tell him the truth.
