I've been a fan of Colin Firth's for some time now and thought it would be fun to make "secret" necklaces with the front having a theme inspired by one of his films and the back a framed photo of him.

I've used them for prizes in quizes I do for an online Colin group & as BD presents for fellow fans. I enjoy thinking about so many of us walking around with his picture there to look at any time we want.

The first two were inspired by "Hope Springs." The next three are more generic -- one loosely based on "Nanny McPhee" (the colors), the next on the moors in "Master of the Moor" and the third on the dark colors of Pride and Prejudice.

The next two were inspired by African textiles in "The Secret Laughter of Women," with a tomato vine fringe on one of them.

The next three were inspired by the elaborately embroidered clothing in "Shakespeare in Love" and the gowns of the wealthier ladies in Pride & Prejudice. The length of the necklace can be altered by moving the peyote-stitch cuff up or down.
