Law Presented with $18 Million Divorce Settlement (May 17th, 2004)
British actor Jude Law is facing a $18 million divorce bill from his ex-wife Sadie Frost. Frost - as part of her divorce settlement demands presented this week in London's High Court - expects Law to pay her a $9 million cash lump sum and the $9 million house they shared with their children. The couple were granted a divorce in October 2003 and have spent the time since preparing for their legal battle over their assets and children. A source tells British tabloid newspaper News Of The World, "Until now they've been arguing on the phone and on occasions have been at each other's throats. Now Jude's got the figures and has been told to consider them. Sadie reckons the 5 million lump sum is just a third of his movie income from the last year in which he's done three films. She argues that she's been with him while his career was growing, through the lean years while he built himself up, and she was his rock. She kept the home going and was there for their three kids." Law - who is dating his What's It All About, Alfie? co-star Sienna Miller - will not have to pay Frost's $36,000 monthly allowance request if she marries her current boyfriend Jackson Scott. The couple's priority concern is the joint custody of their children - Rafferty, seven, Iris, three and 18-month-old Rudy.

Sky Captain's Flight Delayed (April 22nd, 2004)
After weeks of speculation about whether or not the film's visual effects would be completed on time, Paramount has opted to bump its retro-futuristic actioner, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, to a later date.  The Hollywood Reporter scoops that the Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow starrer has been moved from June 25 to September 17.  And although the effects completion has been a major concern, the studio's official explanation is that the shift comes because of moves on the part of its competitors. Sky Captain had been set to open a week before Spider-Man 2, but Sony recently announced that it was moving the web-slinging sequel up to June 29, leaving Sky Captain just four days in the spotlight. Paramount vice chairman Rob Friedman told the trade, "To have a window of a mere four days seemed to be wrong.  We have a great movie that the public is excited about and the media is excited about. With think it's a bigger opportunity in what is right now an extraordinarily crowded summer to put (the movie) in a less competitive situation where we will have a greater opportunity." Friedman added that the visuals weren't a holdup.  "It would definitely have made it," he says.  But with the new date, the studio will be able to conduct extensive screenings and promote the film heavily for several months at events like Comic-Con.

"Jude Law 'Bruised' after Break-Up" (Jan. 14th, 2004)
Film star Jude Law spoke today of how his break-up from Sadie Frost left him battered and bruised. But the Cold Mountain star said he felt stronger and happier now that the couple have divorced. Law and Frost had an acrimonious split last year and were granted a quickie divorce in October on the grounds of the movie stars unreasonable behaviour. In an interview with This Morning, Law spoke about the break-up. He said: I think those sort of situations take a lot longer to heal and repair and to put back into order. It changes your life, I think, when you enter into a marriage and it can change it just as much as when youre part of a break-up. But I certainly feel stronger emotionally and happier in myself, if not a little battered and bruised. The couple have three children Rafferty, eight, Iris, three, and 16-month-old Rudy. Frost claimed in divorce documents that Laws behaviour had worsened her post-natal depression, for which she needed treatment. Law, 31, is now dating 21-year-old actress Sienna Miller, his co-star in the forthcoming remake of Alfie. Despite earning millions from films such as The Talented Mr Ripley and Cold Mountain, the actor claimed he was too poor to afford a second home. He and Miller were rumoured to be house-hunting for a rural hideaway in Gloucestershire. Interviewer Kate Garraway recommended the pretty Cotswolds village of Painswick. Law told her: Im not looking to buy anywhere at the moment, I cant afford it. So at the moment Im staying in the house Im in and very happy. Ill certainly look at Painswick, Ill go and check it out when I do move.

"Raunchy Scenes Out For Love-Struck Jude Law" (Dec. 24th, 2003)
Jude Law has hired a body double to film his raunchy sex scenes in his latest movie. The handsome actor was reportedly reluctant to romp with other actresses in the film Alfie after falling for his stunning co-star, Sienna Miller. So he has hired hunky model Gavin Dixon to stand in as his body double for the steamy shots. Gavin's sexy scenes include bedding pretty actress Nia Long on a pool table and having sex with another beauty on a masseur's table. The 31-year-old model revealed: "I had to romp with two of the most beautiful women in the world--and I got paid for it!" Jude picked Gavin as his sex scene stand-in because of his muscular body and toned six-pack. Gavin told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Jude came in and had the final say. He was impressed with my six-pack and decided to go for me. I'm more toned than him and he wanted to look muscle-bound on screen." But Gavin didn't get to canoodle with stunning Sienna--Jude saved those scenes for himself. The couple's real-life romance is going from strength to strength and Sienna recently attended the premiere of Jude's new film Cold Mountain with his parents.
