| Our Adoption Journey | ||||||||||
| Below is our account of our Journey to China to become united with Grace. Our Journey really begain in January of 2000 when we begain the first of our pre-adopt classes with our adoption agency. I had already started gathering some of the papers we would need for our dossier, which would eventually be sent to China. Our dossier was finally completed in May, 2000. On May 18th we confirmed that our documents had been received by the Chinese. We now began the wait to receive the information on the child who would be chosen for us. The wait was much longer than anybody had anticipated (6-8 months). We finally received word on April 27, 2001 at 10:33 a.m. that Zhang Xia Lu, born on July 31, 2000 was our daughter! It was this day that we finally saw a picture of our daughter! We received travel permission on Friday, May 18th. Events moved quickly after that and our scheduled departure date was June 1st!
