SCIENCE AND POETRY

My passions are the poetry I write and my attempts to keep up with advances in science, which I hope some day again to pursue in the lab. The Bible has many hints for avenues for progress in science, more than just "creation". Two of these hold great promise for advancement in medical science and better treatment -

THE LAWS OF SCIENCE AND GOD

A huge portion of the Bible is in poetry form. What my poetry does is to help explain the Bible - my format is a poem along with Bible verses to help explain each other. One of my first was the following:

To name a name
And say the name is true
Is not to name
The breath that gave it due.

To name a name
And say the name is true
Is not to name
The breath that gave it do.

To name a name
And say the name is true
Is not to name
The BREATH that gave it dew.

Paul said we see through a glass darkly and so we do, in our futile efforts to know the intentions of friends and others, and ESPECIALLY OUR OWN HEARTS, not to mention the creation that the sciences attempt to understand.

GOSPEL PRAYER

Jesus fought Satan with Bible verses. We are to do the same. Here is my attempt to turn Bible verses into two-edged swords - to lance the boils of sin and to sew up - as Hebrews 4:12 teaches: "For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart". THESE PRAYERS AND TEACHING - CAN BE USED AS DEVOTIONALS.
