Self Protrait #1 (Herpetology)
I hate doing self protraits but it's a great challenge for those who do want a challenge when it comes to art. I wanted to do something more than just another self protrait, I want to show my personally as well as what I like and belief. I love eastern philosophy so added the Buddah, but love the story that the cobra helped cover him from the rain that I also added the cobra to it. Symbolizing that snakes are more than just terrifing beasts in which the Bible poisons ones mind to think. Also because I'm a female and human females always went hand to hand with snakes when it comes to the Bibles sterotype. That women are as evil as snakes yet women and snakes symbolizes  life (reborn, women reborn by giving birth to life) sort of like the reincarnation that snakes have when they shead their skins. Not to also forget the fact that women and snakes both have also been symbols of sextuality. The thing with the crocodile is that they symbolize strenght and skills due to the way they hunt. I believe it takes great skills and strenght to jut get up every morning and be able to walk while there are many people in the world who could not. As well as takes great strenght and skill to do this painting. :) The iquanas are representatives of lizards and it is said that some species of lizards bring good fortune and luck. The frogs are there to represent water. Being that I'm carcerian, a water symbol of the zodiac it was only proper that I place that concept into this painting as well. In some parts of thwe world snakes too symbolize water. I guess its because it's the way that snakes move like water or are flexable as water. Yin yang is in the pic because no real human has one type of personality. We all have a sort of double life or personality, I'm masculine in some areas but feminine in others. Kind and sweet but do have an fearful  and dangerious side as well. The colors used in this painting just means I love using every color that can be fitted into one painting the expression "The more the marrier." is a great way to state the use of colors into this painting.
As you can see it's not done yet but soon will. I need to get a better camera this one suck balls.
It may look done but it's not. I haven't added the snakes to the hair.
My art teacher didn't like the first one so I did another one. What a difference. I still perfer the first, even though it broke every rule when it comes to color.
Yeah me. I finally finished with this painting.
