Random Terminology and Factoids
EDITORS NOTE: I am lazy, therefore, this isn't necessarily in any order, just in the order i think of it, so SORT OF in order of importance (so far), so sorry.
Aer-Tial
Army which once was the Imperial Guard for the royal family of Emho, the Gurahin family.  The Aer-Tial, which translates roughly to "guardian of the people", is led by a general.  Underneath the General are ten Captains, each commanding a division of soldiers, which is approximately 1,000 men.  Each division is divided into three battalions, led by a Lieutenant, the battalions are divided into patrols of 25 men each, led by an Officer.  Each unit is given a name, and remains fairly independent of the main group.  The General himself leads the elite Royal Guard of 2,000 men.  It is the garrison of Emho, and was still reffered to by its old name the Aer-ti-un, (Guardian of the Monarch), until Haron ti-Gurahin passed away, ending the royal line.  The history of the Aer-Tial and its actions regarding the Great Bleed can be read in chapter 2.

The Great Bleed
A period of genocide where the Aer-Tial general Minatdor led an assault against the Elves, and then the Dwarves.  The Great Bleed lasted almost a decade, lacking focus, except for the end goal.  Minatdor had been manipulated by the Verac-Noh who wished to be the most powerful group of beings on the Yeterian Plain.

Verac-Noh

"makers of rules", in lame man's terms.  The Varac-Noh is the Mage's Coucil (its more common name).  Established over two millenia ago, Human mages wished to create a true order and hierarchy.  The Verac-Noh reside in Emho, and all mages agreed to its creation when it was formed, and agreed to abide by its laws.  All mages since then have trained with the council in existence, and must abide by its laws before even being considered for training.

Spirit Energy

Spirit energy is what gives a mage their power.  Humans have an enourmous amount of spirit energy, it was part of the reason the Elves refused to train Human mages except at the most minimum of levels.  Elves had a greater spirit power, but Humans have greater potential, but the imperfections of humans limit their ability to utilize that power to its fullest, and it is to overcome these imperfections as best as possible that is the point of training.  (Elves, according to the first mages, were born with the ability to use magic, being purer than the Human race).  Spirit Energy can also be utilized without knowledge of magic, but only the Master Warrior Aesa was able to do it a number of years ago.  She was said to have had an apprentice but his name and whereabouts are unknown.
