I came up with an idea tonight, 12/28/2007. I was thinking over all the friends I have gained and lost contact with over the internet and figured I'd put up a "lost buddies" webpage in the hopes of reconnecting with a few of them.
I should probably start with the super early days of the internet...when actually even having a computer in your house that could do more than type up papers was super cool. :-) From about 1989 until 1991 I was on Prodigy. (I did mention "super early days", right?) I was only allowed in the kids section then I remember having some great friends in the Star Trek and Star Wars discussions.
Among the many was Admiral RC whom I remember living in Ohio and being about a year or so younger than me. There were also Beth and Katie who lived in Kensington, Md at the time. All of us, once Prodigy died away and the great exodus to AOL happened, created a somewhat short lived newspaper. It was all on Star Trek. I'd love it if anyone has a copy anymore.
During the AOL years, I played with an RPG group that focused on the X-men and later had Gen x as well. I played Jubilee. :-) I met a LOT of people through that, including Brian, Lisa "Bum" Mckee, Mice, and many many others.
It wouldn't be until the late 90's that I discovered there was a world beyond AOL and join in yet another great exdos to what we consider now the internet. I had and have AIM and still did a lot of RPG's including Phoenix Rising hosted by Ray.
During this century, I've been pretty good about keeping up with friends I've met on the internet but I really want to reconnect and at least find out what happened to the lives of so many others I've encountered over the years. Just another couple of years and I'll have been on the internet for 20 years! (ack!)
I'll update this page and add some stuff too it. It's not fancy right now. For fun, you can go to my blog at http://isabelladangelo.livejournal.com if you like. I'm sure I'll find some old files with more information in the hopes of reconnecting.
