| Milk and Cookies Hurry up Isabel! Michael called from his couch in his apartment. I AM hurrying Michael! You want it so bad then you can get it yourself! Isabel yelled from his kitchen. Isabel could practically hear him smirk from where he was on the couch. Okay, your highness. Heres your milk and cookies, Isabel said with a slight bow. Thank you my minion, Michael said with a half-smile. Isabel smiled and sat down beside him. They had been going out off and on for a while now. But Isabel couldnt resist saying something. You know Michael, its a good thing that we arent like those lovey-dovey couples who go out all the time. You wouldnt go for that kinda thing. Whats that supposed to mean? Michael asked, looking like hed been offended. Well, I mean, youve never been one for going out, Isabel said, liking where this is going. She loved to Michael riled up like this. I didnt ever want to go out with Maria. She was just too wishy-washy for me, Michael said, eating a cookie. Isabel started laughing, Ive never heard you say wishy-washy before Michael. Well, Maria was around me all the time so I couldnt ever say it. Well, does that mean that youre going to take me out more? Isabel said, hoping that her voice didnt show the hope she felt inside. I didnt say that, Michael corrected. Whats that supposed to mean? That youre going to treat me like Maria and only be couple in the eraser room and occasional dates where I have to pay! And to think that I gave up all the guys at school, who would have actually paid for my dinner, for Michael Guerin, Isabel ranted. Isabel calm down! Its not my fault that I only get a two-figure salary at the Crashdown! I want to take you out Isabel! Youve got to believe me! Michael pleaded. Well, any other guy wouldnt have waited until they had enough money! I dont mind paying part of the dinner, but it would be a nice change if you would either pay for dinner or help me pay! Isabel kept getting louder and louder with each word. Well, I cant help that fact that Im not Grade A meat that you can just pick up off the market! You know what you were getting into when you agreed to start dating me. . . Michael said, starting to yell. If youd even call it that, Isabel mumbled. Whatd you say? Nothing. What did you say Isabel! Tell me dammit! Fine! I said, if youd even call it that! What we do is more one-sided than equal like it should be! Isabel spat. What do you kiss yourself? Do you roam your hands all over yourself? It seems to me like I do just a little bit of it! You got the little bit part right, Isabel retaliated. Isabel Evans! Im going to take you out! Michael yelled. Oh really? Thats what you said the first time and I ended up paying for everything! Including the movie we went to see! Isabel! Im going to take you out! And Im paying for it! I finally have enough to take you somewhere nice like Ive always wanted to! And I dont want to hear another word about it! Michael yelled, getting in Isabels face. Isabel never liked it when Michael got really mad like he was now. She knew that there was no use in arguing now. So she did the only thing she could doagree. Okay Michael, just calm down. Whatever happened to Miss Argue? Michael smirked. Im so used to her putting up a fight. Fine Michael! You want Miss Argue? What about Miss Angry? Shes better at it! Fine Michael you can take me out to dinner and YOURE paying for it! Im not going to bring my purse so I cant dime you out if you need some money! If you dont have enough, then thats your problem! Isabel yelled, getting in Michaels face. Fine! Michael yelled. Fine! Isabel yelled. Isabel and Michael turned around so that now their backs were facing each other. So, where are you going to take me? Isabel asked, looking over her shoulder. I dont know. You choose, Michael said, looking over his shoulder. What? Youre allowing me to choose? Isabel smirked. Yeah. But dont think about it now. You wanna watch TV? Michael asked. Sure, Isabel said, turning herself and Michael around. She gave Michael a short kiss and they sat down on the couch. So what do you want to watch, Michael asked, grabbing for remote. Why are you being so nice to me? Isabel couldnt resist asking. Because I really dont want to get in another argument with youI dont think I could hold up against you, Michael smirked. For once in your life Michael, youre right, Isabel said, reaching for a cookie.
