| Bahamas Trip - Part Seven Okay, Liz why did you want to talk to us about? Max asked, laying Tess down on the bed in the girls hotel room. Max, theres something you need to know. You know I never slept with Kyle and you asked my why I didnt, Liz said. Max hung his head down, Yeah, I remember. The reason I had to make you fall out of love with me was because you and Tess are destined to be together and you werent seeing that. See a future version of you came to see me and he told me that. . . . Liz began. Wait, what do you mean a future version of me came to see you? Max asked, standing up. Can I finish? Liz interrupted. Max nodded and sat back down. Thank you. Like I was saying, he told me that I had to make you fall out of love with me because Tess would leave Roswell for good if you didnt. And when your enemies came, you would need Tess and since you didnt have her, you would lose the fight and the world would end. Now do you understand what Im trying to say? Liz finished. I just dont believe this. Youre telling me that a future version of me came to you and told you all of this! This is just unbelievable Liz! You just believed this imposter! And why did he go to you and not me, huh? Answer me that! Max yelled. Yes a future version did come to see me! And yes I did believe him because he IS you Max!!! And the reason why he came to me and not you is because if the two of you ever met, both of you would die! Liz yelled right back. I dont believe this, Max said, storming out the door. Dont worry Liz, hell come around, Tess said reassuringly. I know. Maria, are you okay? Liz asked, turning to her friends. I dont want to talk about it, Maria said, pulling herself closer into Alexs side. Does anybody want to talk about it? Liz asked. All four of her friends shook their head no. All she wanted was to know what happened and for everything to be okay. Wait a minute. What is it Liz? Maria asked. Yes, hello. Id like to make a collect call to Roswell, New Mexico, Liz said, smiling at Maria. ***Meanwhile, Back in Roswell*** Run you idiot! Run!! Sheriff Jim Valenti said to the television screen. Im telling you dad, Green Bay is gonna beat Buffalo, Kyle said. You never know, Jim said, plopping down on the couch beside Kyle. Dad, its the fourth quarter with two minutes left to go and Buffalo is down by two touchdowns and Green Bay has the ball theres no way Buffalos gonna win, Kyle said, trying not to smile. Like I said, you never know, Jim said before answering the phone. Hello? You have a collect call from Liz Parker, would you like to accept the charges? a computer voice said. I accept. Hey Liz, Jim smiled. Hello sheriff. Is there any way you and Kyle could come down here? We really need yalls help, Liz begged. But why Liz? Jim asked. Things are getting kinda crazy around here and we really need your help. Could you and Kyle please come? Liz pleaded. Let me get some things straightened out here and well down there as soon as we can, Jim promised. Thanks sheriff and could you bring the orbs too? Liz asked. Yeah sure, why? Jim asked, completely lost as to where this was going. I want to try something, Liz said. Sure Liz. Well see you in a few days. Good bye, Jim said, hanging up the phone. I told you Green Bay was gonna win! Pay up, Kyle said, holding his hand out. Jim pulled out his wallet and paid Kyle ten dollars. Kyle, pack your bags. Were going to the Bahamas! Yahooo!! Kyle yelled, running into his room. Jim smiled and walked to his bedroom to get packed. ***Two Days Later*** Hey Sheriff! Tess yelled, hugging him. Hello Buddha boy, she said, hugging Kyle as well. Very funny, Kyle said sarcastically. You ready to go? Jim asked. Of course, Tess said, linking arms with Jim and Kyle. Hi Max, Jim said when they got outside. Hello Sheriff, Max said, hugging him quickly. Hey Kyle, he said, hugging him quickly as well. Max, do you have any idea why Liz called us? Jim asked. I dont really know. I left before I she called you, Max said, driving back to the hotel. Tess, do you have any idea? Jim asked, turning around in the seat so he could see Tess. I only know as much as you do. And thats she wants to try something, Tess said, sliding closer to Kyle. Max looked in his rearview mirror and saw Tess move closer to Kyle. Part of him became instantly jealous while the other part of him was secretly happy because if Tess got closer to Kyle, that would mean that he could go back to Liz. He tried not to smile but lost part of the battle. What are you half-smiling about Max? Jim asked. Nothing. Just something funny, Max lied. Care to share with the rest of us? Jim asked, knowing that Max was lying. No, not really, Max said, speeding up. Jim smiled and looked out the window as Max drove to the hotel. ***Ten Minutes Later*** Youll be in Room 77, the lady behind the counter said, handing Jim the key. Enjoy your stay. Thank you, Jim said, picking up his bags. Sheriff, when you put your bags up, come up to our room. Its Room 95 its on the top floor, Tess commanded. Yes maam! Kyle said with a mocking salute. Good soldier. See you in ten minutes, Tess said, giving Kyle a salute and turning to leave. She started to laugh as she pushed the button on the elevator for her and Max. Sheriff, I need to talk to you, Liz said, shutting the door. What is it Liz? Jim asked, placing his and Kyles bags on the bed. Sit down both of you, Liz instructed. Jim and Kyle did as they were asked. Okay, Max and Tess were out yesterday and Tess got this horrible headache. As soon they walked away, the headache went away as soon as it came. Well, Max and Tess got all of us in the car and drove back to where Tess got her headache. Sure enough, the headache came back. But instead, Max drove forward and the headache got so bad that Tess fainted. Then Michael heard the beeping sound and went and got this crystal looking thing which was where the beeping was coming from. As soon as he got it, Tess woke up. Well, I was talking to Tess the other day and she told me that. . .wait, first of all, do you know what the Granolith is? The what? Jim asked. Ill take that as a no. Well, the Granolith is something from the pod squads home planet. I know for a fact that it can be used for time travel and it can take them back home. I know this because a future version of Max came to see me and told me all of this. Well, the crystal thing makes it work. Do you understand what Im trying to say? Liz continued. A little. A future version of Max came to see you and told you that the Granolith, is that right? Anyway, he told you that this crystal will make it work? How do you know all of this is real Liz? Jim asked. I just know, Liz said matter-of-factly. Why did you want us to bring the orbs? Kyle asked, handing her a bag. Like I told you, I just want to try something, Liz said, opening the bag. She smiled when she saw the orbs. Thanks a lot. Well, I dont need to disobey Queen Tess, Kyle said, his voice full of sarcasm. No. None of us do, Jim said, getting up and walking toward the door. Lets go and face the queen, Kyle said, opening the door and walking out with Liz. ***Meanwhile*** Where are they? Tess said, looking at her watch. Were here! Kyle said, running through the door and standing up straight, saluting. Youre two minutes late soldier! Tess said, getting in Kyles face. Maam, sorry maam! Kyle said, still saluting. Drop and give me ten soldier! Tess commanded as Kyle fell to the floor. Eight, nine, ten! Tess counted. Those were the sorriest push-ups Ive seen in awhile soldier! Tess said, jokingly. Drop and give me ten more! And make them good this time! One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! Kyle said, jumping up and saluting again. Better soldier. At ease, Tess said, walking towards Jim. Hey Jim, Tess said, smiling. Wait, why doesnt he have to do push-ups? Kyle asked. Because I cant boss him around, Tess said, her smile getting even wider. Is that all Im good for to be bossed around? Kyle asked, turning to Liz. Liz smiled and nodded. Kyle looked around and found everyone else laughing at him. Well, that a good laugh. Liz, still laughing, walked over and placed the orbs beside the crystal and sat down beside Maria who, along with everybody else, was still laughing. Completely oblivious to the beam of light that shot out of the crystal and out the window. ***Meanwhile*** Its time, the man said, seeing the beam of light come through the door. Are you sure? the woman asked. They might have done it by accident. You may be right. But if its done a second time, were going to be on the next flight out, the man said. Agreed, the woman said, turning back to her computer screen. ***Ten Minutes Later*** Finally, all the laughing had subsided. Okay, Liz what did you want to try? Michael asked, still sitting beside Isabel. Actually, Ive already done it. I wanted to see if anything would happen if we placed the orbs beside the crystal. But nothing happened, Liz said sadly. Try it again, Maria said. Both and Michael were transported back a year ago when she told him to try it again when they were all in Marathon. Michael closed his eyes and tried to block out the memory but he couldnt. He felt a hand squeeze his and he squeezed it back. When he opened his eyes, he was a bit surprised to see Isabel instead of Maria but then he saw Maria sitting beside Alex, doing the same thing he was doing with Isabel holding hands. Yeah, Liz try it again. Sometimes it works the second time around, Michael said, looking at Liz and then at Maria. Maria heard what Michael said and turned to look at him. She saw the hurt she had put in his eyes. She wanted to kick herself for that. *But wait, think about all the times he put that look in YOUR eyes*, a voice said. Maria forced herself to look at Liz. Liz picked up the orbs again, looked at everybody. Then she placed the orbs beside the crystal and thats when everyone saw the beam of light come out of the crystal. What the hell? Michael said, standing up. I dont know. Where do you think it went? Liz said, walking towards the window. It didnt even leave a mark when it went through the window! ***Meanwhile*** Beam number two! Lets roll! the woman said, grabbing her ticket. Might as well. The sooner they know, the better off theyll be. I cant to see our children hurting like this, the man said, grabbing his bags and walking out the door. TBC. . . . |
