SensoryPut red food coloring in water table or pan.
Add small red toys or red straws.Squirt a little shaving cream on the table.

Give children several bowls of different
colored beads and sort by size, color or shape.
Add all the red ones into a red can.
Use tongs to pick them up to encourage fine motor skills.Cover a coffee can with red paper.
Practice sorting or tossing red blocks into the can.Make color cards starting with white.
Gradually make each card a darker shade of red.
Have kids sequence the cards from light to dark
and from dark to light shades.

Frozen Red Cubes:
Freeze a tray of ice cubes colored with red food coloring.
Place cubes in two clear cups.
Place one cup in the sun and one cup in the shade.
See which one melts first.Wet Cube Colors:
Fill an ice tray with water and one drop of food
coloring per each section. Use different colors.
Give the children plastic eye droppers to mix the colors.Colored Jars:
Get three clear baby food jars.
Fill each half full with water.
Color one red, one yellow and one blue.
Discuss how red mixed with other colors produce a different color.
Slowly have children mix some red into the yellow. Orange!
Then mix some red into the blue jar. Purple!.

Set up a pretend Art Store area.
Provide shelves with different colored paper,
pens, pencils, crayons, chalk and water colors.
Add a play cash register and small baskets for shopping.The Fire Station:
Set up a fire station with plastic fire hats.
Make fire suits out of large paper bags the
children haved colored red and yellow. Cut a hole
in the bottom for the head and the sides for the arms.
Also cut it down the middle of one side so it's easy to put on.

Use red finger paint on a table.

Use red food coloring in white glue.
Spread glue on paper and sprinkle with red glitter.Red Crayon Rubbings:
Use a thin piece of paper and a red crayon.
Place a leaf under the paper and rub with crayon until
the leaf shape forms. You can also use other objects.
Examples: Coins to teach money, thin cardboard shapes, circles,
squares, triangles, ovals etc...We used hands shapes also.Water Color Painting:
Rub red crayons again on thick paper this time.
Paint with thin red water color over the crayon.

The bird goes in and out, under the children's arms.
The bird stops on the word "Oh!" and bows to the child facing him.
This is the new "bird" and begin the chant again.Cut strips of red crepe paper about as tall as the child.
Put on some clasical music and dance while waving the strips.

Pink Dip:
Mix cream cheese and a few drops food coloring.
Use with celery sticks or carrots.Raspberry Slush:
Thaw and cook 4 ten ounce packs frozen raspberries for 10 minutes.
Rub the cooked raspberries through a strainer with wooden spoon.
Cool and add one 6 ounce can of frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed.
Stir in 2 quarts of gingerale.
