OCCUPATIONS ACTVITIES
Sponge rollers in water.
Wood shavings with scoops and scales.
Sand with toy cars, trucks and airplanes.
Pipes with water.
Wood pieces with sanding paper.
Playdough with pans and chef's hat.
Mail Man Match:
Use different colored envelopes (parents can donate some).
Mix them all up and place in two shoe boxes.
Kids can match the envelopes.
Dot-to-Dot Mail route:
Make a simple dot-to-dot from mailman to house.
Kids as young as three can trace.
For older children make the route harder to follow and add numbers along the way.
Occupation Match:
Cut out or draw pictures of a Firefighter, Mailman, Grocery person, etc...
Glue onto front of small carboard boxes.
Pile up a bunch of props in the middle of large area.
Have children sort through and place into the correct box.
Items to use: Firefighter hats, plastic vegetables, letters, stamps, hose, etc...
Make a large chart for classroom chores.
Pin occupation pictures around room.
My Job Book
After children are familar with different jobs,
have them pick one they would like to do one day.
Provide magazines with pictures pertaining to the jobs.
Kids can cut out pictures and glue into homemade book.
Splatter paint with old toothbrushes.
Paint outside walls with painters brushes and water.
Mail Truck:
Precut rectangles, squares and circles.
Show kids how to make a truck out of the shapes.
Glue onto large piece of heavy paper.
Healthy Mouth:
Make a healthy mouth using red paper for the lips,
and white paper for the teeth.
Children can feed the mouth healthy foods by gluing on pictures
of good food cut out of magazines.
Fire Engine:
Precut rectangles, squares and circles.
Make truck as in activity above.
Add yarn for hoses.
Police Officer:
