The Jack-O-Lantern

Three little pumpkins growing on a vine.
(Hold up 3 fingers)
Sitting in the sunlight, looking just fine.
(Hold arms up like the sun)
Along came a ghost who picked just one
(Hold up one finger)
To take home for some Halloween fun.
(Hitch hiking thumb motion)
He gave him two eyes to see where he goes
(paint 2 eyes in the air)
He gave him a mouth and a big handsome nose.
(point to mouth and nose)
Then he put a candle in.
(pretend to put candle in)
Now see how he glows.
(wiggle fingers from center of body out until arms are straight.)

Pumpkin

Pumpkin pumpkin
big and round,
I'm glad you grow
upon the ground.
I'm glad you don't
grow in a tree
for then you might
fall down on me.

I've A Jack-O-Lantern

I've a jack-o-lantern.
(make a ball with open fist, thumb at top)
With a great big grin.
(make big grin)
I've a jack-o-lantern
With a candle in.
(insert other index finger up through bottom of first)

I Am A Jack-o-Lantern

I am a pumpkin, big and round.
(show size with arms)
Once upon a time, I grew on the ground.
(point to the ground)
Now I have a mouth, two eyes, and a nose.
(point to each as you say them)
What are they for do you suppose?
(point to forehead and "think")
Why---I'll be a jack-o-lantern on Halloween night.

Have you made a jack-o-lantern,
A jack-o-lantern, a jack-o-lantern?
Have you made a jack-o-lantern,
For Halloween night?

Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins
Sitting on a gate.
(hold up five fingers behind other arm)
The first one said,
(wiggle first finger)
"Oh, my it's getting late!"
The second one said,
(wiggle second finger)
"There are witches in the air!"
The third one said,
(wiggle third finger)
"Well, I don't care!"
The fourth one said,
(wiggle fourth finger)
"Let's run and run!"
The fifth one said,
(wiggle fifth finger)
"I'm ready for some fun!"
Ooooo went the wind
(sweep fingers back and forth like wind)
And out went the lights
(snap fingers)
And the five little pumpkins
Rolled out of sight.
(hide hands behind your back)

I Had A Pumpkin

I had a little pumpkin,
I gave it two big eyes.
I cut a round and tiny nose
and a great big mouth that smiles.
Now I hide behind a bush and
wait until it's dark.
Then when someone comes along
UP I JUMP!
BOO I SHOUT!
What a surprise!"

Jack -O'Lantern

The jack -o'lantern chuckled
Then winked his funny eye,
"I would rather be a pumpkin-face
Than be inside a pie!"

Jolly wolly pumpkin face
You're happy tell us why.
I'd rather be a pumpkin face
And not a pumkin pie!

My Pumpkin

See my pumpkin round and fat.
(make circle with hands, fingers spread wide, touching)
See my pumpkin yellow.
(make a smaller circle)
Watch him grin on Halloween.
(point to mouth, which is grinning wide)
He is a very funny fellow.
