| Dear Lloyd,
I would like to relate to you the story of
NICOLA WEBB a poor 22 year old working mother of three children who was
shot and paralyzed by the police one early morning last September.
Nicola was riding home from work in a route
taxi filled with other passengers when having passed a group of policemen
somewhere near the Canadian Embassy one of the policemen shot into the
taxi and hit Nicola.
The police claim that they signaled the driver
to stop whereas the driver cliams that it was too dark to tell that the
police were signaling him to stop, indeed he thought they were waving him
on.
Whatever the truth this was clearly a criminal
act and should be punished. I am particularly outraged because I am the
founder and president of the Police Civic Committee which raises funds
to alleviate working conditions of policemen.
I have accordingly used money raised for this
purpose to open a bank account for Nicola to assist her with what will
be a very expensive rehabilitation process. She will have to be admitted
to the Mona Rehab Center for this rehabilitation.
Your help in publicizing the plight of this
young woman would be greatly appreciated.
An account has been set up in her name:
Nicola Webb Fund, National Commercial Bank (NCB), Manor Park Centre,
Kingston 8, Jamaica.. Account # 335380584.
Thanks for your help.

Dear Friends,
The above is an example of the criminal recklessness
that poor working people must endure at the hands of a corrupt and brutal
police force acitng with impunity.
I urge you to do all you can to assist this
young woman.
For those of you who reside outside Jamaica
please email me or Ms. Palomino ([email protected]) regarding any
further information you might require in assisting this young woman.
