| Annual General Meeting |
| On the Annual General Meeting all members of BETEA were called to meet and discuss different matters such as the election of the new Committee, analysis of the situation, financial matters and future goals or plans and activities (BETEA Teachers' Days, Magazine, Conversation Group...). It used to be held by the end of September or beginning of October. On the last of them (October 5th 2000) a crucial decission was made. Here are the most relevant extracts from the minutes taken at that meeting: "After one ordinary and two extraordinary general assemblies, bearing in mind that there are not enough new members to renew the committee, the Assembly has decided to suspend all its activities for an indefinite period of time. We have also decided not to charge membership fees for the 2000/01 period due to the aforementioned suspension of activities. There is enough money to keep up the telephone, pay taxes and keep the Association legally alive for one more year. We are going to maintain the name of the Association and the membership list, in case a new team decides to give BETEA a new boost in the near future. Communication channels such as the telephone, PO box and e-mail address will be kept open for the time being." |
