The structure of the Teachers Days was as follows: two plenary sessions, one by Sagrario Salaberri from the University of Almeria ('Coping With Diversity') and the other by Colin Baker from the University of Wales ('Celebrating Bilingualism and Trilingualism: Advantages And Issues'); a seminar by John Asensi about Multimedia and the Internet; also a range of simultaneous talks aimed at different educational levels (Infant, Primary, Secondary, General) and a workshop by John Asensi ('A Simple Multimedia Project: An Interactive Picture Dictionary').
According to the evaluation sheets, in general people enjoyed the talks, above all the ones related to speakers' own experiences.
The evaluation sheets also positively valued the organisational aspects of the Teachers Days. Many comments showed encouragement to continue organising such metings, although participants coming from other provinces considered that the Teachers Days should be shorter.
In addition to the main activities we had the opportunity to see and enjoy the Moving On Theatre Company, Tim Bowley's 'magic' stories and we also had the pleasure of the company of the Porter Sharks Irish music group.
The prizes for the raffles were donated by the various publishing companies which had the opportunity to present their newest material.
In conclusion, the result of this conference was successful and encouraged us to plan and develop future BETEA Teachers Days. |
