|~~ Family History~~|
First on my dad side. My grandpa married twice in his life, his first wife died young and left with a daughter. And My grandpa married again with my grandma, and they have five children. My father is the youngest of six. I have two aunts, three uncles, and twenty cousins! and believe or not, all my cousins are married and have kid now. My grandpa was an oriental medicine doctor, he was the most well-known doctor in the town, he wrote the books and prescriptions for the hospitals, and his knowledge and skills could cure a dying people to be healthy again--as called "cure dead to be alive".He cured many hopeless and dying people that were returned by hospitals. He had wished to train my dad to be a doctor, and continue his knowledge and skills, but my dad was not interested in medicine. I believe that's one of the biggest pity he had. It's my pitty too, I think I would be interested in to learn that if I was there at that time. Unfortunately, he commited suicide at the year I was born. Sometimes some people could be saved after certain poison such as overdoes pills, but nobody can tackle the poison that my grandpa made it for himself. I was told by my mom his death was due to unhappy relationship with my grandma. My mom respected my grandpa very much, she often told me the stories about grandpa and the things he had done to benefit people. It's very sad that I don't even know exactly how my grandpa looked like since we did not have photos in those old days, the only thing left was a portrait, which could not really tell exactly. Some people said my oldest uncle looks like my grandpa, so I always imagine how he looked and smiled. When I was about in high school time, I found a lot of medicine books in an old storage box which contained a lot of hand written manuscripts of my granpa's, I tried to read them, but did not understand. Even though my grandma did not have a happy relationship with my grandpa, she still treat us kids very well, always bought snacks and food to favor us, of course, my dad is also the best son of my grandma's, i think. He always gave the best food and fruit to my grandma everytime he got back from work. Even us children could only spare a little bit. My grandma is still pretty healthy now, she is 89 years old now, still can climb five stories in my uncle's house. I have not seen her for six years, I miss her. But my miss to her is nothing compare to my dad, I can feel that. Turning to my mom side. My mom was born in a rich family, but born at wrong time. My grandpa's family was pretty rich and powerful at the time before my mom was born. His family has a large properties and own the whole town, everybody worked for his family. But the revolution came in, the rich family was tortured by poor people under Mao's guidance, so my grandpa's oldest brother was working under chairman of republic of china, he escaped to TaiWan along with Jiang Jie Shi. His second brother was sentenced to death by chinese government, not because he's guilty for something, just because he was the son of the lord. My grandpa was fortunately survived due to he was not adult yet at that time, I believe was 17. Yes, my mom was born when he was only 17. Many years past, they finally get contact with grandpa's oldest brother, knew he immigrated to U.S. my great grandma actually visited U.S. twice before, but she was not very comfortable with living in U.S, so my grandpa took care of her until she died. Then my grandpa's family immigrated to America. My mom is the oldest of four in her family, I have no aunt, and only three uncles. A lot of people thought my grandpa might be over seventy years old, but actually he is only 67 years now.And my first and Second uncles both married and have one child, third uncle divorced and remarried recently. I have only two cousins in my mom's side. Well, there are actually much longer and detailed stories I want to write, but it's approach to midnight, I want to sleep now. I will write more if i have mood some other times. I don't feel good after recall the sad things.--Janice 2003
