2003 New Year Celebration Party in Montreal
A New Year party was held for the Jilin University alumni at 935 Decarie,
St-Laurent, Montreal on Jan. 12, 2003. In spite of the cold weather, nearly
50 alumni and their family members showed up at the party. This is the
third party held in Montreal since the foundation of JUAAC.
Due to the enthusiastic notification among our alumni and successful work
of the board members, JUAAC has been known by more and more alumni.
We were so glad to see a lot of new faces at the party and very grateful to
the alumni who always support our activity. Although our party was just a
simple one, everyone liked the atmosphere and enjoyed the talk with the
others. We started at 11:30 a.m. and the alumni had spent the whole afternoon
chatting, listening to the music, singing and playing games. We had a pizza
snack together and took some photos with the new or old friends. The atmosphere
was so warm that nothing can prevent us from becoming friends. The eldest
alumni at the party graduated in 1957 and the youngest one graduated in 2000.
Some alumni have been in Canada for ten years and some just arrived several
months ago. However, we have one thing in common: we can't forget the beautiful
memory as a student in Changchun. That is enough for the alumni when we meet
in a city so far from our homeland.
When it became darker and darker, the alumni had to say goodbye to each other.
That Sunday afternoon was so short for us that we are were reluctant to leave. We
held a successful alumni party with the support of our alumni. Some alumni helped
us with the organization and arrangement and some gave us good advises for the
future activities.
Thanks for the attendance of the alumni and look forward to meeting you next time.
