JUAAC 2002 Summer BBQ and Election of New Board
Dear Alumni:
The Jilin University Alumni Association of Canada (JUAAC) held its Membership
Meeting on August 18, 2002 in the form of summer BBQ at the Sunnybrook Park,
Toronto.
This was the first Membership Meeting of our association after the merge of
Jilin University with Jilin University of Technology, Norman Bethune University
of Medical Science, Changchun University of Science and Technology, and
Changchun Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. New Board of Executives
was created from the meeting with Mr. Liu Jijun re-elected as President and Mr.
Shi Shengli elected as Executive Vice President (for the full names of our new
board, please see the email of August 21, 2002 sent to our alumni list).
The meeting was a great success with around 100 members participated including
a couple (Ye Gang and Ju Xia) from the United States. The delicious dishes
prepared by our alumni were shared and BBQ food and drinks provided by the
Board. Everyone enjoyed themselves and found a day of relax and pleasure.
The weather was cooperative being not too hot for the day. Adults busied
themselves by eating, drinking, chatting and card-playing with our next
generation running on the grassland in the sun and playing balls with each
other. The dancing performance by the beautiful girl (Wang Xueqing) was
marvelous and won a big applause from the audience. The meeting provided a good
opportunity for our alumni to make new friends and to talk to old friends. The
pleasant time we spent together will for sure last a while in our memory.
Once again, the Board thanks everyone for their support by their just attending
the gather-together and hopes to see everyone again for our next winter party
around the end of this year.
