CHARTER
of the
JILIN UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
of CANADA 

I.      PURPOSES

        1.      The Jilin University Alumni Association of Canada (abbreviated as JUAAC hereafter) is a non-profit seeking social organization registered in Canada;

        2.      The purposes of JUAAC is to promote communications and information exchanges among Jilin University alumni living in Canada, and overseas; encourage contacts with our Alma Mater, with her staff and alumni on campus; and organize various kinds of activities for the promotion of the foregoing.

II.     MEMBERSHIP

        3.      Anybody who once studied at merged Jilin University in undergraduate programs, graduate programs, and or any other training programs, and those who worked at merged Jilin University in any capacities, presently residing in Canada, is eligible for membership. 

        4.      Those who meet the criteria listed in Article 3 can become members of JUAAC after they apply and register with the Board of Executives.

        5.    Members have the rights to vote and to be elected, the rights to participate in any activities organized by JUAAC, and they have duties to support these activities.

III.    ORGANIZATION

        6.    The executive body of JUAAC is the Board of Executives. The members of the Board of Executives are elected at the conventions, the term of the Board is two years, and the term may be extended if re-elected. 

        7.       In order to strengthen our communications with Jilin University and other organizations, certain number of celebrities are invited to be our honorary Presidents and an honorary Executive.

        8.     The Board of Executives are made up of one President, one Executive Vice President, several Vice Presidents, one Secretary General, and several Executives.  

IV.     THE CHARTER & OTHER MATTERS

        9.      Subsequent amendments and additions to this charter can be made with the approval of 2/3 (two third) of registered members.

       10.    There is no membership fee for JUAAC. But donations from our members are highly appreciated and encouraged as they can help guarantee the normal activities of JUAAC to be carried on smoothly.
