I use internet for Screen english class(English 4).
I had to pick one movie and analyze it.
First I found a webpage which had information about movies and offered search engine for movies. The site was The Internet Movie DataBase.
I decided to pick "Legally Blonde".
And then I used internet to search it's script and other informations about this movie. I got movie script from Drew's Script-o-rama, other informations from several sites that are related to film.
- How helpful was the Net? Was it more useful than if you had used conventional means, e.g., finding books and periodicals in the library?
It was very helpful. It's reallly difficult to find information about movies in book. But through internet I could easily get some helpful informations and film script for free.
- Would it help if core classes in your major, or general education classes at Ewha were online?
I think it would help. But I suggest that it should be online and offline both. My major is chinese literature. We learn and use many chinese characters which is not a proper letter for internet and we read literature a book and discuss it in the class. We can discuss it online but we can not read it together online. So we should do both for my major.
- Would you like to see other English or other language courses online? If so, what would they be?
Yes, I want to see Japanese coure online. I think it would be really helpful to take online courses for language learning.
Because I can get sound files, practice lot with it and ask question freely on line.
