I'd like to congratulate the Shamokin police and Danville SPCA for rescueing 15 animals from absoluetly horrific conditions here in Shamokin. I'm a huge fan of those shows on Animal Planet, but its different when its staring at you from the front page of your local paper.

Also, I took a cab over to Wal-Mart to get a haircut and groceries this afternoon (not my first choice for either, but its was the only place in town that allowed me to do both). Unfortunately, I forgot today was Saturday which meant the only parts of the store not mobbed with people were the portrait studio and the hair salon. I got the definite impression that I was impeding on their break, especially the way the stylist was manhandling my skull with that electric razor (its for cutting hair NOT bludgeoning your customers half to death).
