Interstate 81 was closed for several hours yesterday due to a tractor trailer accident leaving several motorists stranded for up to 17 hours.

Other residents weren't happy either, but at least some people managed to put a poetic spin on the wintry mess. Most cities in the NE\Central Pa have issued states of emergency (including Shamokin).

Several buildings across the area collapsed under the weight of the snow\ice. No one was injured in these incidents, but at least one man is reported dead as a result of the snow.
