The job lasted until the end of February. A different company won the contract and John began working for them a week later. I guess you could say we had mini a vacation while we waited for the new company to take charge. I have enrolled the children in a better school so I have to transport them to and from school. That means that I will not be looking for a job any time soon. Since I am home I take John to and then pick him up from work. I must say I like being home all day. John says since I have a small income it is not like he is keeping me. I guess he is right so it will all work out. I spend my days on line, at the pool (you should see my tan), watching TV and doing the house hubby things. I really love taking care of my family. I am honing my skills at cooking and I must say I am pretty good. We are starting to make lots of friends here. I think I have found paradise. The first week here I walked out of our apartment and 4 parrots were playing on the power lines. It is now spring and everything here is so beautiful. All the trees and bushes are so colorful. We take walks every night even holding hands sometimes, not caring if we are seen. July 2003 Johnnies kids come for a visit. They will be here about a month. This is one of the best visits we have ever spent. We spend a good part of the day in the pool. His son learns to swim like a fish. John has a new job offer. It is really good money, company car, and moving north 4-5 hours. I brace for the worse and tell the kids. They take it very well and I am in shock because they want to move. They feel the money will mean a better life and not so much stress for John and I about not always being able to do what we want. After 2 interviews the job sounds really good. The real question is do we want to move from here? It has been 3 weeks and no word from the company. We begin to hope they do not want him because we do not want to leave Miami. We finally agree unless the money is too good to pass up we are staying here. It soon is time for Johns kids to return home and to their mom. We talk her into coming here to get them and stay for a few daykind of a get away. I am not sure how it will go since we only have talked a few times in person while exchanging the kids. Johns wife is a good person and I like her.Can you believe it we all get along great? It is nice that there is no resentment about me living with her ex-husband. We agree no one is to blame for the break up, it was just the fact that John is gay and he could not live life as a straight man any longer. After 4 days it is time for them to return home. I must say I do miss her and the children. It was nice having such a large family here. |
