| Part 6 (Not everything is funny.) |
| So we just hung out at the park until the police left, then I could go home. That's the plan. How did she find out? I checked it a million times . No way she could've found out. "You ok?" he asked, looking down at me on the swing. "No. They're going to kill me," I said crying my eyes out. "They won't kill you. They will kill me," he said laughing. "Stop Jon," I yelled out. "Not everything is funny. Laughing and making jokes doesn't work all the time, so just stop!" "Fine, let's just sit here and cry. Not even takling about WHAT THE HELL WE'RE GOING TO SAY?!" Ok, he proved he can yell more. "Sorry I yelled. I'm just scared, sorry." Now I got two things to cry over. My parents killing me and I yelled at this perfect, sweet guy. "Sorry, too. I kow you're scared, but hey, they won't kill you so it can't be the end of the world," he said as he walks to the other swing. I see the two police cars leave and I look at Jon to see if he had seen them He is already up and looking at me. "Guess we could go and try to explain. If you want to leave now you can." I don't care anymore about being with Jonathan. I know he is a normal guy, but six years difference and me being grounded for life is going to stop any chance I had with this guy. "I will leave when you are ok and you won't get into too much trouble for this." He put his arm around me. "If I had known this was goig to happen I would have walked away in the store and never looked back. Sorry." Idon't want to hear my mom talk about this. I kow she is going to be like, "You little slut! What were you thinking?!" "I had fun today. I wish the ending was better but..." He smiled at me. "Same here," I said smiling back. We are standing in the front yard about an inch from the door. "Well, you go in frist," I said pointing to the door, hoping he opens it. "Uh, no way, you live here. I would be rude to just walk in someone's house." He pointed to the door. "But is it rude to beat up your guests?" I asked. "What?" "That is what my dad is going to do to you. You want to leave?" I asked, still crying. "No, but youopen it and wakl in first." He looks at me, and then the door. Next thing I know, he grabs me, the door, and opens it, pushing me inside. "Mom. Uh, hi," I cried out. "Where the hell have you been?" she hollered. Then she sees Jonathan and it's another story. "And what are you doing with this guy?" She stopped yelling when she knew it was Jonathan. "Why were you so happy to be going to school this morning? Why didn't you play sick?" "I was..." I began. "Shut up! I am not even taking to you now!" She looks at me in an upset way. "You asked me, like, 20 questions then told me to shut up?! Do you want 'shut up' or an answer?" I am confused, she asked me a few questions then I try to explain, and she says shut up. She looks back at Jonathan. "I am so sorry my daughter is bugging you. I will make sure she leaves you alone. You didn't have to bring her home, but thank you Jonathan." She is nice to him, but can't even talk right to me. "This is Jonathan, Mom, the guy from Home Improvement. If that is a big deal to you." I look at her. "No, it isn't a big deal. You dad is out looking fo you. I am so mad right now, I may kill you for walking in here with a movie star." Well, she is back to yelling. "I didn't meant of rher to get into trouble or anything," Jonathan said. "I really did want to see her today. I did ask her to see me today. Sorry." Wow, he speaks! "Why? She is 11." Are you into that type of thing?" Well, my mom isn't yeling at me, anymore. That's good, right? "No, I'm not into that type of thing. She is a nice person and I like her. Is it that hard to believe?" Oh yea, now my mom is being yelled at. "I don't know what she told you, or how she acted today, but trust me, you don't know her well enough, or you would see how mean she is. I am caling the police and telling them you're home and safe. I will be back, you make sure he is gone by the time you dad gets here." She stormed out of the room. "That went well," he said looking at me. "Yea, great Jon. My mom likes you more than me, and thinks this is my problem." "What, like it's my problem?" he pointed out. "I didn't say that." "You didn't not say it." "Just go, please? Let them yell at me. This isn't your problem." I walked over to the door and opened it. "I don't want to go," he said turning around. "Go before she realizes!" I am so sick and sad. I can't stop crying. "Realize what?" he yelled. Then my dad walked in the house. "What is going on?" "My friend talked me into not running away. He was just bringing me home. Thank you Jonathan." I pointed to the door. "Well you friend look a lot like Randy from Tool Time," my dad said. Jonathan and I both laughed a little about "Tool Time" as opposed to "Home Improvement." "My name is Jonathan, not Randy," he said still laughing. "What's so funny?" my dad started yelling. "You kidnapping my kid?" "No sir. Whta's funny is today was the first day It hink your kid ever smiled." Now he wants to fight with my dad. "Yea, I'll bet you gave her something to simle about, didn't you?" He got closer to Jonathan. "Jon, just don't leave," I yelled. "I wouldn't do that to her, but she was happy today." Jonathan didn't even hear me. "You don't know her." My dad walked away. "I kow she is 11 and can't eve swim. She did'nt even kow a hotel could have a pool." Jonathan wasn't done yelling at my dad. |
