Part 10
(No.  I want to sleep.)
Summer is here.  No school, but that only means more being at home.  I plan on just sleeping two and a half months, I mean, bears do that in the winter.  Why can't I do that in the summer?  I'll only come out of my door to eat and use the bathroom.  That sounds like a plan to me.  As I walk in the door home from school, I hear my mom, "Hi, so how was the last day?"
"Fine," I said rolling my eyes, and I walk to my room.
"Do you want to go rent movies later?" my mom yelled.
"No, I want sleep," I yelled back.
"Fine, sleep all summer.  It's not my problems."  I should have known she would know I was planning on sleeping all summer, I have been trying it since 3rd grade.  A few hours later, my mom knocks on my door.  "Jessica?"  She pauses to give me time to answer her, but I don't really want to talk to her.  It isn't good to hear her voice as soon as you wake up.  It hurts.  "Jessica, are you up?"
"Yea, I'm up.  How can I sleep?"
"Ok, fine.  Seleep.  I will tell him to call back later."  Before she was done talking, I was up and at the door opening it.  I kenw who "him" was.
"No, it's ok.  I will talk now."  I smiled and grabbed the phone.  "Thanks Mom."
"No problem," she laughed, and walked back into the livingroom.
     "Hi," I said.
"Hi Jessica, what's up?"  Now that is a voice you want to hear when you wake up!
     "Nothing much, you?"
"I have been wanting to call you."
"Really."  I laughed.  "Today was my last day of school."
"Cool.  Next year you'll be in middle school, right?"
"Yea, but school is school.  Nothing different."
He lauged.  "Yea, but now you are going ot have more teachers and more classes."  Yea, like he would know.  He has the power to fire his teacher or teachers if he wanted to.
"I guess so," I said.  There was a pause for a few seconds.  Pauses make me feel weird, so I needed to find something to talk about.  "Do you have anything planned for the summer?"
"Not really.  I may be working on a movie next month, but as for this month, nothing big planned.  You?"
"Nothing at all.  What type of movie?"  I had to ask.
"A Disney Christmas movie," he explained.  "I don't really know yet."  Wow, I can't wait to see it.
"Cool."  What else can you say?  The word "cool" covers it all.
"You have friends and stuff right?  Something to keep you busy."
"Only two friends.  One is staying with her family all summer and the other is going to camp."
"Why don't you go to camp?"
"I like the outdoors, but not all the time.  Plus, I wouldn't know anyone."
"Well, I could help you."  Yea help come kidnap me.  Let me hang out with you all summer.
"I know you would if you could."
"You're not the only one who has parents like that," he said.
"My parents are mean about it.  They both like me not having anything to do."
"Your mom sounds a little nice.  I mean, she did give you the phone so you could talk to me."  He had a point htere.  A little point, but a point.
"Still..."  I heard someone talking to Jonathan.
"Jessica, can I call you tomorrow?"
     "Sure.  Bye."
     "Ok, thanks.  See ya."
I walk out of my room to hang up the phone, and my mom is sitting in the lving room looking at me.
     "What?" I asked.
"Did I say anything?" she said.
"No, but why do you stare at me like that?"
"Do you not like me looking at you?"
"Ok, there too many questoins going around now!"  I laughed.
"You started it," she said laughing.  "So what did he want?"
"See, that is why you were staring at me.  You wanted to ask that."  I started laughing.
"Well, you're in your room talking to him, and you come out smiling and acting all happy, and I can't ask you about him?"
"You're only telling me to talk to him beacus you're on the other phone listening," I snapped.
"That is not true.  I don't spy on you."  She walked into the hallway and i turn into my bedroom.  Before I can close the door, she yells," I bet his new Christmas movie will be good."  I knew she was listening.
My life is boring.  I can't change that.  I heard the phone ringing, but Jonathan said he would call me back tomorrow, and not in a few hours.  I knew it wasn't him.  If it's not him then I don't care who it is.  My mom talked on the phone a lot longer than I think I have even seen her takl before.  I couldn't listen because it would give her reason to listen in on me.  Plus, my dad was by the onlyother phone in the house.
"Dinner is done," my mom yelled to us setting the table.
As we all walked back into the living room, my mom says, "Oh yea, Jessica, remember that camp we talked aobut today?"  What the hell was she talking about?
"Uh, no?  What are you talking about?"
"Today you said school was out and you wanted something to do.  WEll, that camp you wanted to go to is ok by me if your dad says ok."  I looked at my dad, and still didn't have a clue to what my mom was talking about.  I think she ate something that messed her up.
"What type of camp?" my dad asked looking at me.
     "A..." I don't know.
My mom cuts me out with, "An acting camp.  She would have fun."
"How much is this going ot cost me?"  My dad looked at me.
"Not much, I think."  I need to stick with letting my mom talk.
"Her school called.  That was who I was talking to.  They said it is all paid for and all she needs is clothes and they will pay for it all."  She smiled at me.
"Fine by me.  I don't care."  He walked into this room.
"Ok, what camp?  My school doesn't have a camp planned and I don't want to go to camp.  I'm not going."  I'm confused, which is a bad thing.
"I guess your dad buys it, but Jonathan called wanting you to come stay with him for a week or two."
"Oh my God, really?!  You don't care?!"
"don't let your dad find out," she said laughing.
"REALLY?!"  I am still takling loud.
"Yes, I said just a few days.  And he said he would pay for the plane ticket.  Don't scream, if your dad finds out, you're not going anywhere this summer or ever."
"Wow, I can't believe this."  When you're happy it feels like you're going to get sick.  That is the greatest feeling in the world.
"You're leaving Friday, and coming back Thursday, ok?"
"Yea yea, whatever.  Thanks, I've got to go."  I ran into my bedroom and scream.  At the same time my dad is walking out of his room.
     "What is wrong with her?"
"Oh, she is just excited about camp."  My mom looked a little scared.  I know she hates lying to my dad, but he likes me living like this and not being happy.
