New - Sav's Favorite Def Leppard Picture Of The Month
TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE
This, obviously, is the page devoted to my favorite rock band of all time - Def Leppard.
Now, I don't have the time (or frankly the patience or inclination) to build a huge shrine, and let's face it - there's already enough of them out there.  So what this is, are a few personal remarks and reviews, as well as links to my favorite Def Lep sites already out there.
The first rock album I ever bought in my early, early teens was On Through The Night.  Granted, it was to replace my brother's copy that I accidently trashed, but having forked out a couple weeks' worth of allowance, I figured it was worth a listen.  I was hooked.  Have been ever since.

Leppard have played in my hometown a total of five times now, and up until the Slang tour (and a most appreciated birthday present from
Scully), I'd never seen them.  Missed the High 'N' Dry tour 'cause I was working out of town.  (My brother went to that one - I never did forgive him for not taking me).  Missed Pyromania because by that time I was in a band of my own and had to play that night.  They were staying in the hotel I was playing at, which was lucky for me because I met three of them in the elevator of the hotel, (seems to me it might have been Joe, Steve and Sav, I could be wrong) but I missed the concert.  Missed the Hysteria show due to the fact that I was engineering a session of my own that night and by the time the promoter had released the last minute tickets it was too late to get out of it.  That was an interesting one, though, driving around the next day I happened downtown where the tour bus was loading up.  Someone that either was Sav or looked remarkably like him stepped out in front of the bus and I damn near ran him over.  Yelled out my open window to 'watch where you're going you stupid assh*le" and drove on with Animal blasting out of the speakers.   Scully's never let me live it down, although I seem to remember her yelling the same thing out the window at the same time.  Oops.  Missed them on the tour for Adrenalize because once again, I was also playing that night.

Anyway, along comes the Slang tour and my birthday present from Scully - 8th row, side stage tickets to the concert.  It was great.  'Nuff said.

So now we're travelling five hours or so to go and see Rockfest '99, which so far seems to be one of only two Canadian dates Leppard is playing, unless more get added later.  And since it's an outdoor venue I fully expect to get rained on.  Details and a review of that one are now posted, but I had to give it a page of it's own!
