Revealed
I had walked a moment
Too long hidden by
My taller’s shadow,
Embraced in its comfort,
And so when, at long last,
The sun rose chillingly into
My direct line, its
Happiness scorched.
Afraid now to take a
Step, I stood hesitating,
My breath rising with each
New thought; all were released.
To play a waiting game is
To pass the ball to them;
My heart longs for shade but
Beats with intrigue as I tan.
