Desiccated

Stiffened willow leans interminably eastward
Grasping mourning sunlight within our reach.
Howling wind lacking magnitude seeps by
Unnoticed, rattling fretted brows.

Salty fluids drench souls of living,
Condemning dying to hell.
Weeping eyes stutter in their blinding,
Fruitless, treadmill.

Breathe and cough life away, suffocating
Encircling thoughts in never-ending blood-stream.
Wide-open, gaping gasps quench no thirst for
Life, exacerbating peripheral darkness.

Swimming tortuously through condensed air
Never ceasing to push sooner,
Depravity overtakes cleanliness as
Spring settles discordant in our path.
