Believe

Don’t think yourself anything
Less than what you leave behind: silence
Snows freely when touched beautifully.
Warmth subtly suggests darkness in shadows
Covering nigh on everything.

Scolding handles contract unbeknownst,
Questioning the vacuum of water now assumed –
I don’t either. Fraudulent they seem, floating
Beneath the sagacity of death, but forever
Glistening in depths of sadness.

Shining forbids all save
Those most important. We follow soon
Underneath their stead – nights silhouetted
Graciously by cousins of life, and their coveted
Brother. Believe.
