Battle-Scar
My eyes darken but horizons
Glimmer our hope inexorable;
Forget dreamless sleep and march
Forward: our endeavour their incumbent misery.
Look! our ravished gaze blurs
Beside our refracted mind’s
Thoughts; can I make out in that
Far distance my fear scattering so violently?
Imaginations once sought float
Upwards in step with our hearts’
Beats; endless they run, forever
Breaking their stride, gasping for breath.
Clashes of metal awaken our limbs to
Senses, rousing duty and obligation;
Stand tall and lead needy into their
Ascension through the next door.
